York Chester Middle School is a public middle school in the Gaston County Schools school district located in Gastonia, North Carolina, United States. The school has a main building where its cafeteria, International Baccalaureate program classes, most elective classes, and two grade levels are located. It also has several trailers that hold the grade level that is not in the main building.
York Chester Middle School is a magnet school for the International Baccalaureate Program. The current IB coordinator for the school is Melissa Fonseca. York Chester received accreditation as an IB World School in 2005. Students who are apart of this program are engaged from grades six through eight. The IB program feeds through to Hunter Huss High School for grades nine through twelve.
The Cougars Boy's Basketball team won the Gaston County Championship in the 2008 season led by Dominique Adams and Jordan Sanford.
